Course Description:

Relationships are key to cultivating support for your nonprofit. In this session, take a deeper dive into to authentic relationship management, allowing your organization to extend its capacity.  Who is this for: Medium and Large sized nonprofits with paid volunteer management, HR, marketing, communications and/or development staff. 

 

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to work with long time supporters to extend your organization’s reach through their networks
  • How to connect with both new and seasoned supporters to create momentum for campaigns (hiring, fundraising, volunteer, community engagement)

Angela Florez

Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona

An Arizona native, Angela grew up in Northern Arizona, situated near the lands of three indigenous tribes; White Mountain Apache, Navajo and Hopi. This upbringing influenced her to focus her education and professional talents on championing access to quality education, healthcare and programming addressing social determinants of health for marginalized communities. 

Prior to joining the WFSA, Angela served as the Chief Development & Marketing Officer for Valle del Sol, a $23 million Federally Qualified Health Center and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. She oversaw nearly $6 million in fundraising in 2021.

Her career spans some of the most visible organizations serving girls and women throughout the state, starting her career with the Girl Scouts- Arizona Cactus-Pine Council and most recently serving as Board Chair for Planned Parenthood Arizona.  

Angela is a graduate of the Hispanic Leadership Institute, the ASU Generation Next Nonprofit Leadership Academy, and the Center for Creative Leadership. Additionally, Angela has received recognition by the Phoenix Business Journal 40 Under 40, Univision Hispanic 40 Under 40 and received the Poder in Action 2017 Hero of the Year award. In 2021, she was recognized for her exceptional leadership by Achieving My Purpose, a Phoenix based nonprofit celebrating the impact of women of color.

Passionate about community service, Angela spends her time regularly volunteering and currently resides in South Phoenix with her spouse, two parrots and 4 adorable dogs.
